9 alumni selected for International Advisory Council

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is among the top 45 institutions within the United States for producing students who earn Fulbright awards. The ranking was announced Feb. 11.

The Nebraska Alumni Association has announced the selection of nine individuals to the International Alumni Network Advisory Council. 

The International Alumni Network Advisory Council will guide the network in creating a global community that empowers and supports international students and alumni affiliated with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to thrive personally and professionally.

The group aspires to build community where shared experiences, values and the spirit of Husker pride transcend cultural differences and geographical gaps. 

New council members include:

  • Mia Azizah, Washington, D.C.;
  • Daniel Charleston, Porto, Portugal;
  • Margaret Nongo-Okojokwu, Lincoln;
  • Maurice Pordon, Amsterdam, Netherlands;
  • Sameer Srivastava, Dubai, United Arab Emirates;
  • Uri Swerdlin Rodal, Huixquilucan, Mexico;
  • Jay (Jia Yung) Tan, Lincoln;
  • Ashley Wallace, Lincoln; and
  • Galen Wilke, Ames, Iowa.

The advisory council meets once per month and provides guidance to the International Alumni Network. Learn more about the network online
