ASUN, Campus Red Cross Club to host homecoming blood drive

The Association of Students of the University of Nebraska and the Campus Red Cross Club will host a homecoming blood drive from Sept. 29 through Oct. 2. It is the largest blood drive in the state, and this is the second year that health care company Abbott and the Big Ten Conference are partnering to gather donations across the country.

The winning school will receive $1 million. Nebraska won the competition last year.

The blood drive is:

  • 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 29, Nebraska Union Centennial Room
  • 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 30, Nebraska Union Centennial Room
  • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 1, Nebraska East Union Great Plains Room
  • 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 2, Nebraska Union Centennial Room

All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to donate by signing up online. Spots are filling up fast. There are four divisions for competition and volunteer points: fraternities, sororities, RSOs and residence halls.
