Franzen-Castle

Lisa Franzen-Castle will be interim dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences from June 13-30. She will serve ahead of the arrival of Jeff Reese, who was announced on March 14 as the college’s next permanent dean.

Franzen-Castle is interim associate dean of the college, and professor and extension nutrition specialist in the Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences. As extension nutrition specialist, she has statewide responsibilities and plans, markets, teaches, conducts, and evaluates educational programs and materials related to nutrition, health and wellness education for adults. Many of her extension efforts are integrated with her research, with extramural support reflecting multi-state work and local, state, and regional projects from non-profit, foundation, financial cooperative, government, and federal sources.

This appointment will bridge the leadership transition from Nick Pace, interim dean, who will depart the university June 12 to serve as dean of the University of Kentucky's College of Education.
