The Academic Planning Committee has scheduled a series of hearings to gather feedback on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s $27.5 million in proposed budget reductions.

The budget reduction plan was announced Sept. 12 by Chancellor Rodney D. Bennett and addresses a structural deficit along with anticipated challenges in fiscal year 2026.

A series of public hearings will be held between Oct. 1-10. To minimize potential disruption and allow for respectful and thoughtful dialogue, the hearings will be livestreamed rather than open to the public. Affected units will determine who speaks at each hearing.

Complete details on the hearings, including Zoom access and an online form to all to provide feedback, are available on the Academic Planning Committee website.
