‘Night at the Lied’ to honor student-athlete excellence

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln will celebrate the excellence of its student-athletes with “A Night at the Lied” on April 27 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

Hosted by the Academics and Life Skills departments, the annual event recognizes student-athletes for excellence in academics, athletics, community service and leadership. Faculty and staff are invited to attend this free celebration.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for a red-carpet reception with hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Seating begins at 6:30 p.m., and the program starts at 7 p.m. Advance registration is encouraged and available through the Huskers.com event page.

The program will honor student-athletes who meet specific criteria for achievement in academics, athletics and community engagement. Awards presented include Best Athlete; Outstanding Scholar; and the Heart and Soul Award, along with Rookie of the Year, Herman Team GPA Award, Sam Foltz Hero 27 Leadership Award, Tom Osborne Citizenship Team Medallions and Academic Medallions.

The evening will conclude with the announcement of the 2026 Most Outstanding Student-Athletes, who will also receive the Big Ten Medal of Honor.
