Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott Price, 63, a research scientist at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Biological Process Development Facility, died Jan. 26.
Price oversaw quality control at the Biological Process Development Facility for 13 years. A Lincoln native, he graduated from Lincoln Northeast High school in 1980 and, with distinction, from Southeast Community College in 2008.
Before beginning his career at the university in 2012, Price completed his practicum with the United States Department of Agriculture Soil and Water Conservation Unit. He honed his skills further at the Consumer Health Analytical Development Laboratory with Novartis until he started his position in Nebraska’s College of Engineering. Price’s natural leadership, witty sense of humor, strong character and fun-loving personality made him a favorite fellow associate.
In his leisure time, Price enjoyed gardening, decorating for the holidays, taking family photos and planning his next travel adventure.
Price is survived by two children, Amber and Brandon; father, Robert Price; brother, Mike Price; numerous nieces and nephews; and additional relatives. He was preceded in death by his partner, Vicki Nightingale; sister, Lynne Jackowiak; and mother, Marjorie Ames.
