Oscar Shorts opening at the Ross Feb. 14

Two little girls with brown skin and dark hair lay next to each other with their hands in the air.

"Anuja" is one of five live-action short films playing at the Ross starting Feb. 14.

A series of Oscar-nominated shorts is opening Feb. 14 at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln's Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center.

Continuing are the films "I'm Still Here" and "The Seed of the Sacred Fig."

For the 20th year, ShortsTV presents the "Oscar-Nominated Short Films." With all three categories offered — animated, live action and documentary — this is a chance for Ross patrons to predict the winners ahead of the March 2 Academy Awards.

"Oscar Shorts 2025" will air various short films through Feb. 27. Please note that the short films may not be appropriate for audiences under the age of 14 due to scenes of gun violence, shootings, language and animated nudity. Viewer discretion is advised.

A festival pass, which is good for all three program types, is available for purchase at the Ross.
