The State of Nebraska has discontinued interoffice mail pickup and delivery with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and other locations. Effective April 1, the change is part of a broader initiative by the state to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency, primarily due to declining mail volumes.
Options for mail between the university and State of Nebraska offices include:
- Larger Interoffice Mailings (More than 50 letters or 10 packages) — Contact the university’s mail services team at 402-472-7029 to coordinate for pickup and delivery.
- Standard outgoing mail — Offers two options to departments and units. Send via the university mailroom (by placing in an outgoing mail bin) in a USPS mail-ready envelope. Mailroom will bill postage directly to a department’s four-digit zip code. Individuals can also deliver mail directly to the mailroom in the Nebraska State Capitol (Room 1419) or Nebraska State Office Building (first floor).
