UCARE application reviewers needed

Student Research Days

A student presents to peers at Student Research days.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Office of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships is seeking volunteers from all disciplines to serve as application reviewers for the 2026-2027 Undergraduate Creative Activities and Research Experience program cycle. Faculty, postdocs, graduate students and staff who hold a master's degree or higher are eligible to review UCARE applications.

For more information about this opportunity, please see below or go straight to the online sign-up form.

Application reviewers support undergraduate research at UNL while adding this enriching professional development experience to the university service section of their curriculum vitae. Each year, reviewers evaluate UCARE project proposals from undergraduate students in all disciplines, to broadly include:

  • Arts and Humanities
  • Business
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Journalism
  • Life Sciences
  • Physical Sciences
  • Social Sciences

Reviewers will be assigned no more than 15 applications in their field of expertise (or a closely related field) and will be provided with review training materials. Assignment of UCARE applications to reviewers will be informed by a reviewer’s noted disciplines and college/departmental affiliation on our sign-up form.

Beginning in early March, reviewers will use UNL's NuRamp proposal system to read and evaluate proposals at the times most convenient for them. The majority of reviewers average about five or fewer hours to complete the total evaluation process. The deadline for reviewers to submit their evaluations in NuRamp will be March 31.
