University to launch new hiring, onboarding system in September

Campus

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is preparing to launch SuccessFactors, a new integrated talent management system that will replace PeopleAdmin for recruitment and onboarding. All institutions within the University of Nebraska and Nebraska state college systems are also moving toward implementing SuccessFactors. The systemwide rollout is also known as Project 921.

The transition will follow a phased approach starting in August, with full implementation scheduled for Sept. 16. SuccessFactors will help modernize how we attract, hire and onboard new employees.

Key features include:

Enhanced applicant experience

Resume parsing allows candidates to upload a resume and automatically populate their profile and application fields.

Streamlined onboarding

Most new hires will complete onboarding electronically, with information flowing directly into SAP, the university’s enterprise resource planning system.

Position descriptions will now be managed through a new position management tool integrated with SAP, improving consistency and efficiency in tracking and managing positions.

Transitions of this size affect many across the university. Training for both SuccessFactors and the new position management tool will take place in August and September. As implementation details are finalized, updates and training resources will be shared directly with system users.
