Bio

Cynthia Willis-Esqueda studies the effects of race and ethnicity, with bias and issues of assimilation and acculturation a part of the mix. She teaches a class on the psychology of immigration, which touches upon all aspects of immigration and acculturation. (Updated March 2025.)

Bio

Amanda Morales is an associate professor of multicultural and multilingual education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research addresses issues of equity and access for underrepresented students across the education continuum, from pre-kindergarten to advanced degrees. Her current work focuses on teacher diversification pathways, teacher preparation for working with immigrant and migrant, multilingual, and underrepresented students, critical mentoring for teachers of Color (TOCs), as well as the lived experiences of pre-service and in-service TOCs in predominately White institutions. She has won national research awards from the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education, the American Education Research Association, and the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education Association. Morales teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses on multicultural education, intercultural communication, and critical de-colonial/anti-colonial theories in education. (Updated May 2025.)
