William Barrera, director of NeSIS, assists Wilber Daken into Pinnacle Bank Arena for a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on April 7. As part of its partnership with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, the university allowed faculty and staff to volunteer for vaccination clinics this week. The effort was part of a broader push to vaccinate some 40,000 Lincoln and Lancaster County residents.

Groundwater levels rose significantly across most of Nebraska from January 2019 to January 2020, according to the recently released 2020 Nebraska Groundwater-Level Report. The rain, snow and ice surpluses from 2019 were reflected in thousands of well measurements taken across much of the state in early 2020.
