Nebraska

The meat processing industry experienced major disruptions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Agricultural economics Professor Azzeddine Azzam has received funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture to study the impact of the pandemic on meat processors and the resilience of the industry as a whole.
