
Organizational Development and Training is offering a virtual rewind of two insightful sessions from the 2024 All-Staff Conference. The offerings come as proposals for the 2025 All-Staff Conference are being accepted through March 14.
The virtual rewind will explore how regret can improve decision-making skills, and strategies for being a better supervisor. The upcoming rewind sessions, both available via Zoom, are:
NRICH: The Power of Regret: How Looking Backward Moves Us Forward
1 to 2 p.m. March 27
We all have regrets. When people tell you what they regret the most, they tell you what they value the most. This session combines insight from the World Regret Survey and research in social psychology, neuroscience, biology, and workplace management to help us leverage regret as a force for good. You’ll learn why regret makes us human and how it can improve our decision-making skills, boost performance, and deepen our personal and professional relationships; and
NRICH: Strategies for Being an Effective Supervisor
2 to 3 p.m. April 29
In the panel discussion, seasoned supervisors share strategies, best practices and practical insights to help attendees enhance their supervisory skills. The discussion will cover multiple topics, including building trust, managing performance issues, effective communication techniques, unique challenges of supervising student workers, and cultivating a positive work culture.
The sessions offer professional growth to enhance skills and knowledge to excel in work roles, practical tools to gain actionable strategies for immediate implementation, and the opportunity for building community by connecting with colleagues to share insights.
