August NRICH sessions will cover transitions, conversation starters and Outlook

On the heels of the All-Staff Conference, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Organizational Development and Training Unit is continuing to offer opportunities for professional development. 

August kicks off with an All-Staff Conference rewind, featuring one of the most highly attended sessions, and the lineup continues with essential skills for personal and professional growth, and offering practical strategies and insights that can transform the workday and connections. 

Managing Change and Transition in Times of Uncertainty

Navigating change is an inevitable part of any career, but how we manage it makes all the difference. This dynamic session, led by Jordan Gonzales, senior director of alumni engagement, Nebraska Alumni Association, is a rewind from the 2025 All-Staff Conference. It will illuminate the crucial distinction between organizational change and personal transition. You'll dive into research-backed techniques for managing the human element of change through its three phases, along with practical implementation strategies you can use immediately. Outlook Overhaul: Master Your Digital Workday

Is your Microsoft Outlook 365 desktop experience more chaotic than productive? It's time for a transformation. Often dismissed as awkward or confusing, small talk can be a powerful tool for well-being, forging connections and accelerating career growth. In this engaging and highly interactive session, we'll debunk the myths and missteps of small talk, offer memorable conversation starters that really work, and teach you how to keep a chat flowing gracefully — and even how to end it with finesse. You'll leave with practical tips and perhaps a newfound appreciation for the unexpected power of a good conversation. Be advised: You will be talking to others in this session, so come ready to connect.
