Memorial Stadium will serve as the heart of Husker move-in as the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is introducing a streamlined, drive-through process for students and their families.
Aimed at creating a centralized, efficient and memorable experience, University Housing and Dining Services will launch an all drive-through move-in process Aug. 17-20. Using the Memorial Stadium Loop at 14th and Vine streets as the central hub, the new system is designed to minimize stress and showcase Husker hospitality.
“Move-in is a pivotal moment for our students and their families,” said Lucas Novotny, executive director of Housing and Dining Services. “By streamlining this process through a drive-through model in the heart of the university, we’re making it more convenient, celebratory and uniquely Nebraskan.”
Upon arrival, families will be greeted by staff and drive up to a check-in tent in the Memorial Stadium Loop. Students will receive a welcome bag, informational handouts and a color-coded hangtag for their assigned residence hall.
After check-in, families will be directed to their halls for unloading. Moving Services will be on site to unload vehicles and deliver belongings directly to student rooms — so students and families will not have to lift a finger to move into their Husker Home.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding as modified traffic patterns near 14th and Vine streets during our movie-in may cause delays,” Novotny said.
