For an unwavering commitment to team success and offering extraordinary one-to-one service to students, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Sue Ellen Pegg received the Kudos award from the NU Bord of Regents.

The award, an NU system honor that recognizes employees who go above and beyond in serving the university and its community, was presented during the board’s June 19 meeting.

Pegg, recruitment coordinator for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, has been with the university for 16 years. In her role, Pegg is tasked with an array of responsibilities that require a high degree of coordination, initiative and expertise. Colleagues credit Pegg for her exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to foster a sense of community.

“Sue Ellen is great at making connections between departments and really taking advantage of everyone’s strengths to help the team be successful,” said Clare Hornung, a recruitment specialist for agricultural sciences and natural resources. “Her positivity rubs off on all of us who work with her.”

Pegg has also been a key figure in the continued success and growth of student recruitment initiatives in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

Alli Raymond, an admissions coordinator for the Department of Animal Science, said Pegg makes every student she works with feel like they are the most important person in the room.

Tammy Mittelstet, a statewide education coordinator for agricultural sciences and natural resources, described Pegg’s approach as, “a big smile, a person’s first name and the most positivity anyone can possess.”

“Her attitude and thoughtfulness toward everyone she encounters are felt by all around her,” Mittelstet said.
