Staff Senate hosts town halls on budget, compensation, campus changes

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Staff Senate is holding two town halls for staff employees.

The first town hall is 1 to 2:30 p.m. June 9 at the Nebraska Union, Swanson Auditorium. The second session is 10:30 a.m. to noon July 14 in the Nebraska East Union, Arbor Suite.

Topics for discussion include:

  • Alternative rewards for staff employees due to no compensation increases;
  • Ways to productively engage with university leaders to address the consequences of no compensation increases;
  • Joint accreditation process for UNL and the University of Nebraska Medical Center;
  • Future campus budget cuts;
  • Proposed Board of Regents’ bylaws changes; and
  • Joining other entities in support of a mutual academic defense compact.
