Twelve new senators elected to Staff Senate


The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Staff Senate held elections from March 19 to April 10. The 12 senators elected will begin serving a three-year term beginning in July.

The newly elected senators, listed by district, are:

District 1: Business and Finance

  • Jerri Harner, Organizational Development and Training
  • Brittany Kruckman, UNL Police Department
  • Jon-Michael McDaniel, UNL Police Department
  • Abby Schletzbaum, UNL Police Department

District 2: Chancellor

  • Jill Flagel, Institutional Equity and Compliance

District 3: Academic Colleges

  • Sara Guerrero, Oldfather Business Cooperative
  • Erin Ingram, Center for Science, Mathematics and Computer Education

District 4: Student Life

  • Amy Harrison, Student Life Business Services
  • Morgan McConnell, Housing

District 6: IANR

  • Jennifer Dush, Animal Science
  • Jessie Brophy, IANR

District 7: Research

  • Jennifer Rutt, Methodology & Evaluation Research Core Facility

Notably, there were no open seats in District 5: EVC Academic Enterprise during this election cycle. The election saw no candidates run for the open seat for District 8: University of Nebraska System.

The senate serves as a voice for the university’s staff and meets the second Thursday of every other month to discuss issues, share updates and provide input on university-wide initiatives. The next senate meeting is 2:30 p.m. May 14 in the Nebraska Union’s Swanson Auditorium. All university staff members are welcome to attend.

Leadership for the Staff Senate’s executive committee for the 2026–27 academic year will be determined during a July 9 meeting.
